    Verdict

A dire opener where the pin comes down on ARTY CRAFTY, while Haling Park is among a number of possibles. Sir Mark Prescott has given the selection just three runs so far and the handicapper has somehow contrived to come up with a mark of 52 as an assessment of his abilities. The maestro may have pulled a fast one again, and he now steps up the Arch filly from 7f to today's 1m 2f, which is likely to be the route to improvement. She has also had a lengthy break in which she may well have strengthened up and it would not be racing's greatest surprise if she were good enough. Failing that, one to consider is Haling Park. Gary Moore does well at this track and this Halling filly performed with plenty of credit in the context of this race when a two-and-a-half length fourth to Rosy Dawn at Folkestone last time. From the same mark she looks a player. Warrants Attention has a car park draw and was a little disappointing when a beaten favourite in a Chepstow seller. He'd like this to be made into a test of stamina and has a bit to prove. David Simcock has kept his string in form for some time now and Majd Aljazeera has slipped in the weights after some miserable handicapping efforts, though the return to this trip and this easier company should see him involved. Sestet could be given a chance if able to reproduce her effort in a 1m 1f maiden here last November, but there are no guarantees on that score. Chateauneuf is worth a try at this trip and market support would be interesting, but like most of this lot her form figures are hardly encouraging. If you must have a bet then the suggestion is Arty Crafty.
