MR GRINCH and Lucky Rave both come here in search of a hat-trick but it is the former that we narrowly side with in a cracking nursery. Michael Dods has some decent juveniles in the yard and Mr Grinch must rank highly. Wins at Carlisle and Newcastle have resulted in him being allotted a mark of 90, however the way that he has gone about his business so far suggest that he will battle hard to make it three on the bounce. Lucky Rave's wins have come in some modest all-weather races and a whopping 13lb rise in the weights for a comprehensive Wolverhampton win may mean that he struggles today. Desert Auction drops back in grade; he is 3lb higher than his Newbury win in August which gives him a chance. Farmer Giles has been frustrating to follow, so a better option may be Atacama Crossing who looked all at sea last time out on soft ground at Newmarket. Blinkers worked on Pleasant Day last time out at Lingfield but this looks tougher so he needs to improve to win this off 82. Brick Red is progressing well and this return to seven furlongs is in his favour, as it is for Flaneur, whilst Jutland and Ransom Note are also firmly in the mix off their current ratings. A smashing handicap, where we will tentatively plump for Mr Grinch.
