Not a strong handicap and it might be worth chancing topweight BRENIN TARIN, while Angel Song, Island Legend and Evelyn May all have claims. The David Simcock-trained selection is now just 1lb higher than when scoring on firm ground at Thirsk in the spring, after a recent slide in the weights. The minimum trip suits, and one previous try on the Polytrack offered plenty of encouragement for tonight's return. There was no disgrace in his defeat to a decent sort at Newmarket last time and he gets the vote. Evelyn May was placed here off a mark of 80 in a nursery last October and has performed with credit from higher pitches than today's during the course of a winless campaign, so she is no back number in this contest, while Angel Song is interesting. Sir Mark Prescott's filly drops back to this trip for the first time and although pedigree suggests she wants further, her style of running thus far says otherwise and this is worth a try. All three of her runs have been on slower ground and she does have to prove herself on this faster surface. Those thinking of a wager on Island Legend will have to forgive him a dismal effort last time when he lost his action, but having landed a Wolverhampton maiden prior to that he is still unexposed here and could go close. Simple Rhythm is relatively consistent and should therefore give her running, and she does act at the track, while a 3lb drop for Sharp Bullet makes him of interest, especially if there is market support. Brenin Tarin is suggested to small stakes.
