Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute's Magnetic Force has shown a consistent level of form in his four starts so far but he looks to be one of the yard's lesser lights with a better bet looking to be ACTIVATE, who is preferred to Dromore. Andrew Balding's gelding is better than he showed at Newbury last time and is closely matched with the selection on their running here in April so he has to be considered back on the Polytrack following that disappointing effort at Newbury. Ralph Beckett's Keenes Royale was similarly below par last time and may now be a shade high in the weights following a hat-trick of successes here and at Wolverhampton. John Gosden's Arctic Cosmos looked well held on his handicap debut at Newbury last month, while William Knight's Missionaire has not been beaten far in his last two outings but is not sure to appreciate the longer trip today. The vote then goes the way of Michael Bell's Activate, who has shown much improved form this term with a good win in a course and distance handicap followed by a solid effort when chasing home Berling at Newbury, and he can resume winning ways.
