In depth

Verdict

Clouding Over is best going this way round and has place claims, however she may struggle off this mark against the boys and so she is passed over in favour of the unexposed City Streets, with Venetia Williams' pair Stan and Lorient Express rated as the main dangers. The selection won on his debut at Taunton over hurdles and now switched to hurdles, he may just have the potential to be better than this grade. It is interesting that he starts his chasing career in a handicap and with Jonjo O' Neill as his trainer, he should be watched carefully in the market for signs of confidence. Stan has been expensive to follow in recent outings and whilst he is on a fair mark, he would be seen to better effect over farther on better ground so for those reasons he is opposed. As is Venetia Williams other runner Lorient Express. He won two hurdles races back in April but has since failed to go in over these bigger obstacles. He was disappointing last time out at Sandown where he had no excuses and must be taken on today. Bright Eagle is consistent and has place claims at a decent price, however for the winner we will return to City Streets to land the spoils.
