Northern Minster gets the vote over Bollin Annabel, with Harry Hooly, Jack Martin and Sands Rising worth a mention. The latter hails from a stable very much in the ascendancy at present and it would be no surprise if he were involved in the finish. However, Northern Minster has been in good form this year, with wins at Catterick and Carlisle, and was not disgraced under a penalty on a return to the latter track last time. He is taken to get back to winning ways before eventually being sent over fences. Bollin Annabel returned to form over shorter here last time and should have no problems staying the longer trip today. She can make a race of it with the selection, while Harry Hooly won here in November and would appreciate a downpour. Jack Martin has to give weight away all round, which will make his task all the harder despite the assistance of Tony Dobbin, and for the winner we return to Northern Minster.
