A desperate affair in which only a very small vote goes to Nordic Prince, with Del Trotter, Mikasa and Muscadier seen as possibles. The fact that seven of the 12 runners here were pulled up last time means that this is not a decent betting medium, but if you must play, then Nordic prince is the suggestion. Prior to pulling up at Chepstow in February, the now 14-year-old had run as good as any of today's opponents on one or two occasions including when second over fences at Newton abbot in November, and even had the speed to score over hurdles at Southwell one evening last summer. Before we get too carried away, they were all poor contests, but at least there is a glimmer of hope. Del Trotter is unreliable at best, but Mikasa is a mere stripling compared to the rest at the age of five, so has time to improve. Irish raider Muscadier was successful in heavy ground at Ballinrobe last year but has done nothing since and the market may prove the best guide. This is best brushed under the carpet but Nordic Prince is a tentative selection.
