Lennel ran well earlier this week and may be good enough to take the finale with Melodian and Santa Caterina put forward as the main dangers. The selection just failed to defeat Desert Island Disc at Brighton last time after being slowly away. He is clearly in good heart and if he can get away on terms here then he should take a good deal of beating with conditions to suit. Melodian rates the main danger as he was a fair third behind Aleron last time but that was on much softer ground and his form on a faster surface leaves a lot to be desired so he can not be backed with any confidence. Santa Caterina was a fair second behind the well handicapped Cellermaster last time and this looks slightly easier so he should again run his race. Scurra is another that is in form but he just gave the impression that he was in the grip of the handicapper last time when fourth behind Inchnadamph so he is probably best watched at the present. Trouble Mountain has dropped to a handy mark and would be a danger to all if he is in the mood, but he is far from consistent and we will stick with Lennel as the one they all have to beat.
