Verdict

In what is, overall, a modest claimer, we will give the vote to Miss Procurer over Soviet Sceptre, Cayman Calypso, One Upmanship and Treason Trail. The selection was fourth in a similar contest last time when keeping on at the finish. Given that she steps up in trip here and has a chance on ratings, she can go well in what, as we say, is a modest affair. A repeat of Soviet Sceptre's third to Inchloss at Nottingham two runs ago would give him a chance, while Cayman Calypso's sixth to Pickle in a Newmarket handicap last time reads pretty well at this level. One Upmanship has been running pretty well and is another to be stepping up in trip now, and Treason Trail was not beaten far in a Leicester seller last time. As we say, this probably is not going to take a lot of winning but Miss Procurer is nicely weighted and seems to have as good a chance as any and, as such, gets our vote.
