Verdict

From our shortlist for this race of Flash Ram, Thornaby Green, Morgan Lewis, Shamrock Tea, Turkish Delight and Musiotal, we are going to opt for Morgan Lewis. The selection is only lightly raced and comes into this race on the back of an unlucky-in-running seventh behind the progressive Royal Challenge at Sandown last time. With a clear run he'd have finished closer and, with the step up in trip also likely to prove to his advantage, he could turn out to be a well-handicapped horse. Flash Ram has been raised three pounds for a Catterick win over a furlong-longer trip and he, along with recent Hamilton winner Thornaby Green, and Turkish Delight, who put up a much-improved effort last time, can all be given chances. Add to that list Shamrock Tea, who has been raised seven pounds for his Newcastle win in June and is actually now two pounds better off for the half-length he beat Musiotal in that race. The latter has won since so is improving but there should not be much between them again. Of the others, Arffinnit would have a chance on his two-year-old form but, for today, we will side with Morgan Lewis.
