Thoughtsofstardom is worth chancing in this company and is preferred over Rothesay Dancer and Blackheath, while Howards Tipple is another to bear in mind for a place. The last named went close here last time out and obviously has nothing to fear from the nature of this tricky course. The drop back to the minimum trip is a concern, so he needs everything to fall into place for him. Blackheath has two Hamilton wins under his belt and is another unlikely to be inconvenienced by the track. However, he can be unpredictable and, even for a race of this nature, he is difficult to recommend with supreme confidence. Rothesay Dancer is better than recent form figures would suggest and has fair claims at this level. Jim Goldie's filly does like to hear her hooves rattle, so any rain would count against her. Therefore, we take a chance with Thoughtsofstardom, who appears to be a touch more versatile regarding the ground. The son of Mind Games goes well on the All Weather, but ran a cracker when second at Brighton a week ago and, if building on that performance, he can gain an overdue success back on turf.
