A terrific renewal of the Jersey Stakes and it could rest between Major Cadeaux, U S Ranger and Arabian Gleam with the vote going to the French raider. U S Ranger was well touted before the two thousand Guineas and faired very well, finishing a close up seventh behind Cockney Rebel. He came to the end of his tether at the furlong pole and so the drop back in trip should be in his favour. Major Cadeaux was just ahead in sixth having raced on the favoured stands side. He has reaportedly been flying at home so another big run can be expected. A number of these are open to improvement not least Jeremy Noseda's Arabian Gleam. He landed an all-weather maiden in great style, and although this is a massive hike in class he has the potential to be very smart. Strategic Prince is another that may be aided by the drop back in trip, but the real eye-catcher from Newmarket was U S Ranger and can lead this classy field home.
