Verdict

COCKNEY may be a pretty short price here, but we expect him to oblige, although Urban Clubber and Maid of Meft shouldn't be discounted. Mark Johnston's runners typically improve from debut, and he was only narrowly beaten at Folkestone a couple of weeks ago. If he doesn't win today, he may go to Haydock or Pontefract at the weekend. Urban Clubber is the most experienced, and his best result came last time out when stepped up in trip to a mile and a quarter. Maid of Meft is having her second run and she ran pretty well on debut last month, and if there's more to come she can be expected to be involved at the finish. Gwenllian is Ian Williams' only runner here, and she put in a markedly improved performance six months after a poor debut. Fantastic Storm is the only debutant, and could be anything; related to a few winners, he doesn't have any fancy entries and was a cheap purchase, but check the market for any support. We like the look though of Cockney.
