If all 16 run there could be some each-way value to be had, but a tentative selection in a minefield of a race would be CROSS KEY, with Destiny's Dancer and Hathaway worthy of inclusion of the shortlist. Richard Fahey's Cross Key is having her first run since last summer, and makes her handicap debut, but she's sure to have been well-schooled. The yard have had some nice winners this week, and she looks capable of continuing that run. It's a step up in trip, but the trainer's a master at placing his charges, and she could prove to be more than capable at this level against some more experienced but inconsistent types. It may be co-incidence, but the last three winners of this contest have all had a low draw, so she could be perfectly berthed too. Hathaway made all when winning over this trip at Thirsk last month, and similar tactics may be employed today. Destiny's Dancer has the advantage of a 5lb claimer on board; she showed some improvement last time out after a number of disappointing efforts. There are quite a few hold-up sorts in this, which given the stiff finish could see a race of changing fortunes, but we think the one to prevail can be Cross Key.
