Maneki Neko, La Vecchia Scuola and Bajan Parkes look the ones to focus on here with Maneki Neko having the most solid credentials. La Vecchia Scuola won four times over hurdles this winter and may well have improved significantly now she has returned to the Flat. A decisive winner herelast time, she is turned out quickly under a six pound penalty and looks sure to be in the shake up. Bajan Parkes ran his rivals into the ground when scoring at Carlisle last time and runs off a seven pound higher mark here. That effort was a considerable step up on his previous effort and his rise in the weights may be harsh. Five time winner Maneki Neko has run two fine races over this trip this season, most recently winning in game style at Thirsk. The runner-up was just touched off in a valuable York handicap next time, and as he only just got up at Thirsk, this stiffer finish may help him. Only four pounds higher, Maneki Neko is good enough to win this competitive affair.
