Verdict
A tricky enough contest for punters with PRINCE OF THEBES just given the nod on account of his red hot recent form, while Abbondanza, Mahadee and King's Ransom are among others with claims. Prince Of Thebes turns up tonight seeking a hat-trick after scoring both here over course and distance and at Kempton. He is up a total of 8lb for those two wins but may still retain enough ability to complete that hat-trick from a decent draw. Abbondanza remains on the same mark as when beaten last time out at Musselburgh and the Wolverhampton specialist is not without hope trying this track for the first time. Mahadee was a 1m 2f winner here last month and ran with credit dropped back to this trip on turf last time. Jamie Spencer reunites the winning partnership and we can see the Cape Cross gelding going very well. Bold Marc is 6lb higher than a Catterick 7f win last month and makes a rare appearance on the Polytrack, but he might find his stamina stretched and he prefers slower ground. Palmerin may emerge as the main danger given that he is 2lb better off with the selection for less than a two length beating last time at Kempton, the main doubt being his lack of consistency. Tayyab is a very interesting entry for Mike De Kock, but he takes a major hike up in trip here having won over the minimum at Wolverhampton and his pedigree suggests he won't get home, so we'll oppose tonight with Prince Of Thebes.
