FRONT OF HOUSE, very impressive when winning two bumpers last season can making a winning seasonal debut, racing in the first time colours of JP McManus today. Connections opted to bypass the Cheltenham bumper to take in the Punchestown equivalent in April and while he never got involved, things just appeared to be happening too quick for him there. He is not the type that would strike you as a typical bumper performer as he has lots of size to him and jumping should see him come into his own. Smoke And Mirrors has the benefit of jumping experience and shaped with some promise at Plumpton, his first outing for five months. After travelling very well, he weakened quite quickly suggesting he was possibly in need of the outing. Zed Candy, the winner of a Uttoxeter novice hurdle last time is another to consider while Kestral Cross would be of some interest given the fact he hails from a yard who are not unfamiliar with punting one of theirs. He was a smart performer on the flat in Ireland for Kevin Prendergast. Sunsetten, the winner of a four year old bumper at Doncaster last January was set a stiff task for his hurdling debut, commencing in a Cheltenham maiden hurdle which contained many decent sorts.
