      Verdict

      An interesting little handicap where a watching brief is advised and a token selection is CHARLIE SMIRKE to get the better of Becausewecan and Naizak. The selection makes his nursery debut here from a comfortable enough mark of 70, after three promising efforts over 7f. This step up in trip looks perfect for him and with his yard going well we will side with him. Another trainer in form is Mark Johnston whose Becausewecan won on heavy ground at Ayr last time. The manner of that success suggested that he would get this far, in spite of his previous attempts over a mile, and a 5lb rise looks fair. He can go well, as can Naizak, who is another on her nursery debut. She showed promise in three maidens over shorter and she wouldn't be a surprise winner. The handicapper doesn't appear to have taken Play To Win's form literally, and he looks best watched, while Celtic Commitment can maintain a steady improvement but the suggestion here is Charlie Smirke.
