SIGNOR PELTRO is deserving of a big prize and today could be his day though Swop and Harrison George are likely to have their supporters. Henry Candy's gelding plugged on well to be second in a Newmarket handicap and while the handicapper has not been slow to raise him again without winning; he has fewer question marks than most, especially as he won this race last year. Swop looked to have improved out of all recognition when campaigned at the Dubai Carnival. Sent off as favourite for the Lincoln, he disappointed badly and has not been seen on the racecourse since. Harrison George invariably looks an unlucky loser. It could be that he just needs everything to fall his way but the handicapper offers little respite. Marching Time is likely to be a well backed favourite off his light racing weight. His breeding suggested that he might make up into a middle distance performer but connections have clearly had a rethink after Salisbury. At longer odds, Salient, has gone close off similar marks and is sure to give supporters a good run for their money. Spanish Bounty is arguably a couple of pounds too high at present though he was far from disgraced in a recent classified stakes at the course. Guilded Warrior is likely to front run. Talking Hands is not without ability and is one to note in the market. Signor Peltro is no gimme in this contest but he has plenty to like about him.
