With plenty going for him, Mac Gille Eoin is selected ahead of Greenslades, Golden Dixie, Tony James and China Cherub to name but a few. In truth this is the most wide open race on the card so far, but Mac Gille Eoin will appreciate the drying ground, has a high draw, and returns to his best trip after finding five furlongs too sharp on his last visit. Greenslades has the class but has not won since last May and may prefer it softer, while narrow Doncaster winner Golden Dixie, one of two Ron Harris challengers, has more to do off a career-high mark. Tony James will do well to defy topweight based on recent evidence, and a bigger danger may be China Cherub, a close fourth in the Shergar Cup Distaff at Ascot, and a fine second to the progressive Bee Eater at Newmarket earlier. For the winner we return to Mac Gille Eoin.
