In depth

Verdict

Another half decent three-year-old handicap now and the three that interest are Gordon Flash, Boston Blue and TROVARE. Gordon Flash has decent form but Boston Blue and Trovare could well be handicap good things especially the latter. The selection ran in some very good maidens last year without ever threatening. His last start was a big step in the right direction though over an inadequate trip. The son of Smart Strike cost connections $195,000 dollars but obviously hasn't lived up to that reputation. He always looked the type to make a better three-year-old and now sent handicapping off a lenient mark is of real interest. As long as the ground stays quick he should run his race, the faster the better in fact. Boston Blue has a similar profile to that of the selection and with the stable still in cracking form must be monitored. Gordon Flash has some decent form for the grade but looks very vulnerable to an improver. Trovare gets the nod in the hope he has progressed well over the winter.
