Times Up needs a market check on this return to action however the lumbering VICTORIA MONTOYA has been given a chance by the handicapper and is preferred to Rajeh and Ermyn Lodge in a tight contest. Andrew Balding's mare caught the eye in the paddock at Chester in May but her two runs so far this season have been poor. Hopes are resting on this lower handicap mark and a combination of the longer trip and better ground for this mare who runs the track well. The ground looks likely to suit Times Up and his trainer excels with slow-burning stayers and he looks an obvious danger, along with Ermyn Lodge who always seems to be off the bridle but he has a fine attitude and is not dismissed lightly despite a 4lb rise in the weights for his gutsy Ascot win. Course winner Rockfella should come on for a recent run at Windsor over what may now be an inadequate trip, Mykingdomforahorse looks fairly handicapped as he drops in grade, whilst Hevelius remains capable of better. The dual-performer Rajeh is not ignored given his propensity for quick ground, however the vote in an intricate handicap goes to the mare Victoria Montoya.
