        Verdict

        Porthcawl can bounce back ahead of Enford Princess, Doohulla and Aastral Magic, with Lady Georgina also worth a mention. Porthcawl is sure to a popular choice with the locals, and if Amanda Perrett's filly can reproduce the form of her Doncaster victory the time before last, then she can prove the answer. The daughter of Singspiel had it to do at the weights when subsequently fifth to Red Bloom in Listed company at Pontefract, and so that was not a bad effort. She will be more at home in this handicap, and can prove too strong for Enford Princess. The latter is going the right way based on her second to Munaawashat at Leicester, but is dropped back in trip here. In contrast, Doohulla is upped in distance after finishing fourth at Doncaster. She did not get the clearest of passages that day, and should prove troublesome despite topweight. Lady Georgina was successful over the course and distance last term, and was having her first outing in 10 months when fifth at Lingfield. She will come on for the run, but this small, compact sort may struggle to carry big weights. All in all, Porthcawl should be the one to follow here, with the drop in grade to her advantage.
