Verdict
The market may reveal some clues here, but on the bare evidence Tuscany Queen is the pick ahead of stablemate Proxenia, with Mixed Blessing, Almost Spinning and Reality Time all to be noted. Richard Hannon has a good string of juveniles as usual, as proved by the success of Red Clubs in the Coventry Stakes on Tuesday, and his two runners here can both be expected to pay their way. Tuscany Queen picked up nicely at the end of her Bath debut and will be better over today's trip, although it is interesting to note that she still holds an entry in the Weatherby's Super Sprint at Newbury next month. Her stablemate Proxenia caught the eye in no uncertain fashion when overcoming a very slow start to dead-heat for third behind Forces Sweetheart at Lingfield six days ago, and this cheaply bought filly is almost certain to be placed to good effect soon. Mixed Blessing is going the right way and was only just beaten at Pontefract, but perhaps has more on her plate now, while Reality Time came up against a smart sort in Sir Percy on her debut here last time. Mick Channon is a master at coaxing the best out of his young ladies, and although Almost Spinning is no Flashy Wings yet, she holds entries in two big sales races this autumn. An interesting contest with an eye to the future can go to Tuscany Queen.
