Course and distance winner Shamrock Lady may be at home now back in less illustrious company, however Not My Choice was an impressive winner at Chester last time out and is taken to follow up. The selection looked the type to improve for nursery company however it was felt that he may have been seen to best effect over further than the five furlongs he won over last time. Whilst he got the run of the race that day there was no denying his promise and with today's extra furlong expected to suit, he can win again having shown his effectiveness on softer ground in the past. Sawpit Sunshine is another previous winner and he managed to win despite not getting the clearest of runs; Goodwood has had plenty of hard-luck stories in the past but proven on this ground he must be respected. Lodi is better than last time and could be a threat in this easier race if settling better, whilst Thunder Gorge and Minwir both look the type to do better now in nurseries. Follow The Band represents a trainer in good form so can't be ruled out, and whilst Smokey Rye could go well for his inexperienced jockey, it is Not My Choice who is our choice.
