Ned Ludd stays forever so whilst he may not be suited by this shorter trip, dangers look thin on the ground and so we will select him ahead of Hesivorthedriver and Sister Agnes. This is a weak maiden but the selection is a proven stayer and this capable dual performer is fancied to get off the mark on the flat this afternoon. Any ground suits so he won't mind which way the weather goes and therefor he gets our vote. Plenty of these may be using this race as a warm up for assignments over obstacles including Come Bye, Burntoakboy and Altenburg, whilst Amanda Perrett's pair both look dangers. Crimson Monarch should be at home in this easier company, whilst Hesivorthedriver had no chance behind a runaway winner last time but shouldn't find anything of that quality today. Expect improvement from the once-raised pair of Tweed River and Whenever, and whilst Pugnacious Lady and Lady Dedlock could bounce back from poor recent runs, it is Ned Ludd who gets the vote.
