Not a great race and one that Robber should take with Alfred The Grey and Flinders likely to fight out minor honours. Peter Bowen's horses have been running well in spite of the trainer's well documented health problems and in a weak race, Robber, for all his inconsistencies, is at least running relatively well and doesn't look unduly punished under a 7lb rise for a recent success. Alfred The Grey has a poor win to run ratio and his best hopes may lie with a forceful ride. It is highly significant that his better performances have come when more enterprising tactics have been utilised. Flinders has to reverse form with our selection based upon their last meeting. His wins tend to come in miniscule field sizes although crucially he has won around here before. Pangeran is watched on a return from absence as is Felix Darby who has not shown too much sparkle in recent racecourse visits. A modest contest that should go the way of Robber.
