The short list for this handicap contains Classira, Summer Dancer and Lordship, with the selection being Classira. Classira was clearly expected to go well at Newmarket last time, having been sent off as the 5/2 favourite. She travelled well but lacked a finishing punch on that occasion and maybe she can restore her reputation today. Summer Dancer looked as though a drop back to seven furlongs would serve him well when third at Salisbury last time and, if you take that view, we feel that he remains on a competitive mark. Cheap Street could be considered if rediscovering his juvenile form and he looked a little sharper in first-time headgear last time, while Lord Theo, Yerevan, Napoleon Dynamite and Carlitos Spirit are among those that need to eke out some improvement if they are to win but Lordship suggested that a race of this nature was within his compass when staying on for third over course and distance last time and is one to give some thought to. Finally, Okikoki may have found Salisbury's mile too far for him last time and the drop in trip can see some improvement. For the selection, though, we will give another chance to Classira.
