LETHAL GLAZE can defy top weight status here to complete a hat-trick, but it's hugely competitive, as befits the card's feature race, and Recession Proof along with Royal Diamond are also worthy contenders. Richard Hannon's gelding has won five of his last seven races, over a variety of trip and in different conditions. Versatile is probably his middle name, as he keeps on defying the handicapper and is now on a career high mark. Royal Diamond is on a treble too, and has plenty in hand at the weights. Like Lethal Glaze, it's a jump up in class, and it could turn out to be a dash for the line between the two of them. Recession Proof is in good form too, with three wins from four (including a dead-heat last time), with the other race seeing him runner-up at a similar level, albeit over slightly shorter. A son of Rock of Gibraltar, he's shown he gets this trip though and is likely to attract some support. Hughie Morrison's Nom Dom looks the progressive sort and the yard have been in good form, while Kimberley Downs has been outclassed at this level but races off a very competitive mark. However our preference is for Lethal Glaze.
