SKYFIRE won in a good time at Musselburgh earlier in the month and can win on his handicap debut at the main expense of Christopher Wren and the Richard Hannon pair of Kajima and Candleshoe in a competitive finale. Mark Johnston's son of Storm Cat is out of a dam who won over a mile and a half so this longer trip should be in his favour. He recorded a good time when winning over seven furlongs at Musselburgh and as long as he acts on the camber he should run well. Logos Astra can be expected to improve this year and some of his maiden form, especially behind Dreamspeed reads well, whilst Ostentation has looked progressive this winter but is probably high enough in the weights now. John Best has some well-handicapped horses in the yard and Christopher Wren may fall into that category as a 6lb rise for his win at Windsor in October may prove lenient. Kajima was left with plenty to do by his jockey at Lingfield last time and he should come on plenty for that run and is considered a big player, as is stablemate Candleshoe although this longer trip is not totally guaranteed to suit. Tuscan King's recent improvement has come at claiming level and this track will be another kettle of fish, however his confidence is likely to be high and the yard can do little wrong at present. Rain On The Wind has had an interesting season but could be well-handicapped, Buona Sarah won well at Wolverhampton last time out and is only 3lb higher, whilst Mr Harmoosh looks feasibly handicapped as he returns to action as a three-year-old. Competitive stuff, with preference for Skyfire.
