MEGALALA is the selection with Silent Applause and Pentathlon afforded plenty of respect. A beaten favourite in an apprentice race last time; Megalala appears to appreciate fairly esoteric circuits so Epsom ticks the boxes in that regard. The trip should be of little concern. Silent Applause makes a return after a very lengthy absence. That last effort was a win on Wolverhampton's polytrack but the fact that Mark Johnston has kept faith with the Storming Home gelding suggests that he must have shown something at home. Hel's Angel needs a fast gallop to rattle home off and could be high enough up the handicap at present. Goodwood Starlight is quirky and the handicapper might just need to drop him a few pounds before he troubles the judge. Barliffey was second here off a 5lb higher mark so if there is any support around, it must be acted upon accordingly. Megalala is the pick in a race where cogent cases exist for many.
