Caribbean Coral is only 2lbs higher than when landing this event 12 months ago but does not come into this year's renewal in the same form and preference in an ultra-competitive contest is for Fast Heart, who gets the vote ahead of Fruit Of Glory. The last mentioned has a 4lb penalty to carry for his win at Ripon last time, which leaves the John Jenkins-trained mare with more to do. The evergreen 11-year-old Bishops Court and Atlantic Viking have good records here but recent form makes either of them hard to back and of more interest may be Dragon Flyer. Mick Quinn's mare looked a shade unlucky at Musselburgh last time and has slipped to an attractive mark. She has to be respected but this is a really competitive contest and the selection is just preferred. David Nicholls is, not surprisingly well represented and of his runners Fire Up The Band and Peace Offering look to have the most solid claims. The vote though goes to Brian Meehan's Fast Heart, who suggested at Haydock last time, behind another of today's rivals Corridor Creeper, that his turn may not be far away and off what looks to be a favourable mark he is the choice.
