An apprentice-jockey race to kick off with, and it can go to San Deng, with his main dangers reckoned to be He's A Star, Royal Miss and Intended. Unlike many of these, the selection has at least won, at Salisbury over a mile from a four-pound lower mark. In fairness, he must hold pretty solid claims in a modest event with a very good rider booked. Well drawn, He's A Star comes here on the back of a Leicester claiming win and, although he will need to improve on that, has to hold claims at this level. It is very hard to get too excited about the chances of those below him in the weights anyway. That said, most of those above him fall into that category too, but Royal Miss is lightly raced and surely has better to come, Intended is another lightly-raced entry with surely better to come also, Fasylitator could be interesting upped in trip, and Double Spectre is of some interest racing in handicap company for the first time. However, we are happy to side with San Deng.
