Night Sight is worth another throw of the dice in a race of this nature and he is preferred over Kylkenny, who is respected but has more on his plate under a 5lb penalty. Jacaranda goes well in events like this and, along with Jake Black, can make it an interesting scrap for the places. Jake Black is a versatile sort that has won races under both codes. He was already beaten when he pulled up in the Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen last month, but assuming that run has left no lasting scars, he should go well here. Jacaranda usually comes good at this time of year and is 4lb lower in the rating than the last time he was successful. Still, he was disappointing last time and now has something to prove. As does Kylkenny, who is a little long in the tooth to be expected to improve for carrying top weight. Therefore, we take a chance with Night Sight, who is also a wily old character that has gone well here in the past. This is easier than some of the assignments Night Sight has dealt with of late and he looks solid value in the opener.
