A poor handicap in which we will take a chance on the consistent Averoo ahead of Writingonthewall and Thomas Malory. The selection is yet to win in ten starts but he has shown some ability. His recent fourth to Presto Levanter reads well in the context of this race and proven on quick ground, he might be able to gain his elusive first win. Helping Hand ran no sort of race last time but is better rated on his close second to Espy at Newmarket. He knows what it is to win a race and has claims if back on song. Thomas Malory ran well over the quick five at Musselburgh last time, and a return to this trip is in his favour, whilst Saranome and Helping Hand need to bounce back from poor runs. It all seems to have gone to pot for Writingonthewall who looked useful as a juvenile, however the hefty drop in trip could see a return to form. A poor contest for the grade, but Averoo can lead them home.
