A tough race to call with Birkside, Sir Duke and Shake On It all holding obvious claims and we side with the last named. Shake On It has proved expensive to follow but he has his favoured fast ground conditions this afternoon and the long straight at Doncaster should play to his strengths. Sir Duke has been tried at trips up to two miles in the past. He has earned his keep this term with three successes this term and he was far from disgraced at Musselburgh. Birkside has been an admirable campaigner throughout his career. A successful graduate from claiming grade, he was a fine strike rate of 12 wins from 36 starts. The latest obtained at Ayr earlier in the month. Robustian is tried without headgear having posted two recent near misses with a visor. Sporting Gesture is perfectly capable and is the only course and distance winner in the field. Stretton needs a strong pace in order to make his late strike count. New Beginning is yet to sparkle this term. Collettes Choice needs a career best to reverse form with Maneki Neko and Birkside. Plenty of probables and Shake On It can make it possible.
