Silvanus is the selection ahead of Rowaad and Hardanger. The selection has run three times without success but his latest effort at Yarmouth was not without promise and in a weak race, the gelding has to be respected. Marcus Tregoning won with a similar type to Rowaad earlier in the week and though the Compton Place gelding has been easy to back this season, the market has to be closely watched. Hardanger is probably bred to be better over further. He will be of interest once pitched into handicaps. Royal Encore was putting his best foot forward at the close of play on debut. The fact that he ran in one back end maiden suggests that James Fanshawe always had this race in mind. Amicus Meus shaped with some ability as a juvenile but must have had training troubles since. Mollyatti has begun to appear regressive. Braille was quietly backed at long odds for a maiden at Redcar. Tump Mac took a long time to appear on the racecourse and his recent fifth showed that there could be a bit more to come. Silvanus seems to have been found a suitable opportunity to gain an overdue success.
