Serena Brotherton is one of the best pilots with a ride in this race restricted to lady amateur riders so her mount Lakeman has to be considered but Brian Ellison's gelding needs to improve on his reappearance effort to get involved at the finish in a race taken to go to KINGSWINFORD, who is preferred to Woolfall Sovereign. George Margarson's gelding is less exposed than his rivals after just three starts and looks reasonably well treated racing off just a 4lb higher mark than when a close second to By Command at Yarmouth earlier this month. Alan McCabe's Fol Liam has been running well on the Polytrack of late and would have chances if able to show a similar level of form back on turf but he is far from certain to do so. Tom Tate's French Applause could be of interest first time in a handicap, while any market support for Misplaced Fortune should be noted. Moody Tunes is another to consider on his return to action but preference is for the David Evans-trained Kingswinford, who comes into this in good heart having run well when chasing home Sir George in a Catterick seller last week and he can go one better today.
