Verdict

We kick off proceedings with a two-year-old maiden over five furlongs and it should pay to stick with the top trainers. DIAMOND GEEZER should be able to outpoint My Son Max and Colorado Gold. Barry Hills' son of Diamond Green kicked off his season with a fine run in the Brocklesby and that race has already thrown up winners. His racecourse experience should stand up and he will prove tough to beat. Richard Hannon's two-year-olds have been in blistering early season form and My Son Max could be up to winning this if forward enough. Like the selection he holds big race entries later in the season and is speedily bred so the trip should not hold any fears. Paul Cole runs Colorado Gold and the son of Dubawi is nicely bred costing 19,000 guineas. He may need a little further in time but should still make an impact in a race of this nature. Other horses to note are Boundaries and Rowan Spirit in a race where the market should be used as a selection tool. Diamond Geezer gets our tentative vote.
