SAFEBREAKER looks the safest option in this apprentice handicap to open the card and he gets the vote over Eijaaz and General Tufto. Kevin Ryan's 4-year-old arrives here in great form and he ran a sound race when chasing home Three Strings at Southwell last month. He finished nicely clear of the rest of the field that day so the form looks solid enough. He also won an apprentice handicap at Pontefract previously in good style for today's rider and he is clearly capable of a big run tonight off his current mark. Eijaaz was a winner when last seen out at Catterick in November and although he has an absence to overcome today, it is worth noting that he has gone well fresh in the past. General Tufto has been in good form of late but the handicapper looks as though he may just have his measure at present. Sporting Gesture is a course and distance winner and the yard are very shrewd so if there was support for him then it could pay to take the hint. However, Safebreaker has not done much wrong recently and he can resume winning ways.
