The step up in trip will suit BOURNE who is selected here ahead of Akbabend and Chalice Welcome. Luca Cumani's son of Linamix might prefer some rain but he handled similar going at Nottingham last month when beating Oriental Cavalier by a head. He is from a strong-staying family so is expected to make further improvement and brush aside a 5lb higher mark. Sedgwick is 10lb higher than when successful at York and that looks a harsh assessment, so a bigger threat may be Kames Park who is not badly handicapped and comes here in good form after a solid claiming third to Trip The Light last month. Jawaab is consistent but his latest win came when beating Souter Point who is not a horse who likes to win. High Ambition was in fair form over hurdles at the end of 2009 but is not ignored now returned to the level, Chalice Welcome is only one pound higher in the handicap than when winning at Kempton in April, whilst Akbabend should strip fitter for his reappearance fourth at Kempton but he may now be high enough in the handicap to fancy strongly. Interesting stuff, but ready preference is for Bourne.
