Sir Frank sets the standard here but we'll take a chance on MAJESTIC MAYHEM, whilst Nearly Sunday has each-way claims if building on her course and distance third last time. Our pick makes his debut for George Moore having previously been trained in Ireland. As a three time point-to-point winner out of a half-sister to Florida Pearl one would expect him to want further than two miles but he showed good pace to make all in a Wexford bumper last time, seemingly relishing the quick conditions likely here. That performance was enough for new connections to fork out £24,000 for his services and our hope is he immediately repays some of that debt by taking to hurdles at the first time of asking, with this intermediate trip of 2m4f probably ideal for now. Sir Frank made a successful debut over timber at Cartmel at the end of May, when along with the second horse he pulled clear of the field. Alan Swinbank's gelding jumped professionally and shaped as though further emphasis on stamina would be of benefit, so it wouldn't be a surprise were this bumper winner to give the weight away. Nearly Sunday defied odds of 66/1 to take a closing third here last time. This cheap purchase needs to improve but this race is no stronger and a place could be there for the taking, although it is difficult to see her winning. Birnies Boy is the other horse likely to attract support as his last-time second has worked out well, with the third horse having gone in again since. The concern is he drops in trip but with Graham Lee up he should go well. A weak start to the card and a fair opportunity for Majestic Mayhem to make a winning debut on these shores.
