BERTOLIVER can land this at the expense of old rival Green Park, with Lost In Paris and Ryan Style others to consider. Stuart Williams' charge caused something of an upset when winning at Epsom but deserves credit for that success, as jockey Jack Mitchell's saddle slipped late on. He still managed to hold the late charge of a progressive type and there was enough of a gap back to the third for us to be hopeful he can defy a mark of 88. Crucially he's a dual course-and-distance winner, once off 90, and surely Philip Robinson will seek to take advantage of this good draw. Green Park isn't the force he once was but that is reflected in this handicap mark and perhaps the combination of a return to Chester and the first-time visor can spark him into life - the horse hasn't been out of the first two over this course and distance. Ryan Style won well enough last time to merit consideration and he too has a good draw, but this is a much better race and he'll need to step forward again, while Lost In Paris is a progressive sort who could defy a 5lb rise in the weights if coping with this track at the first time of asking. Lucky Dan might be outpaced here and looks best left alone whilst Falasteen has gone backwards since making a winning return and is opposed despite having winning form here. This is a cracking sprint handicap and as ever here it could pay to focus on the best of the draw and course form; Bertoliver ticks all the boxes.
