CANSILI STAR should take some beating here, with Rule Breaker likely to fill the forecast spot ahead of the disappointing Hunting Tartan. Michael Jarvis has had a good year already and his string remain in good form, highlighted by the success of our selection at the Derby meeting. He just held off the late thrust of subsequent Buckingham Palace Stakes winner Treadwell that day, with Kajima back in third and that horse has also solidified the form. He is up 8lbs but has shown a liking for undulating tracks and can defy the assessor. Rule Breaker is making his handicap debut and has to be of interesting. Mark Johnston's unexposed charge won readily at Beverley last time, beating a solid marker in the process, and deserves this mark of 88. He seemed to relish the stiff finish that day but if he acts here he'll go close and looks the pick of the trainer's pair ahead of Below Zero, who looks in the handicapper's grip. Hunting Tartan looked good when winning on debut last term but ran poorly in a Group three after and has struggled since, looking rather one-paced. Similarly Layla's Hero looked good last year, notably when winning a couple of Listed contests, but he looks weighted out of winning in handicap company at present. William Morgan is racing over the right trip but remains 7lbs above his last winning mark and also looks weighted to the hilt and along with the rest may have to settle for minor honours behind Cansili Star.
