This looks a good opportunity for Docklands Maximus to follow-up his recent Warwick win. Clearly an improving sort, Nick Littmoden's colt is due to go up 8lbs again due to his success, yet is still 2lbs well-in here. In the negative column is the wide draw and the fact that this is a step up to seven furlongs, a trip which he has tried only once before, but the impressive nature of last week's win gives the impression that he could well overcome those doubts. The Mick Channon pair Aries and Peripheral will both merit respect. The former won her maiden at Folkestone in July over this trip and has not been up to the task when more highly tried, which means that her big defeat at the hands of Mysterinch at Doncaster last time can be dismissed, though she still appears to hold place claims at best here. Of the pair, Peripheral looks the pick. A winner over six furlongs on debut at Doncaster, the filly was well beaten over seven next time out but should know more about then game when stepped up again here, after a solid looking third behind Tamarella at Warwick recently. Of the remainder, Tangled Up In Blue could be the one to give the selection most to do. The Jamie Osborne-trained colt broke his duck over the minimum trip at Leicester in April. Has so far been raced at either five or six furlongs, but should not mind the step up to seven if breeding is anything to go by, and could benefit from having more time to get into the race from stall six.
