PRINCESS LEXI is on a roll and is nominated here ahead of the similarly named Layla's Lexi and also Straversjoy. The selection comes here on the back of wins at Redcar and Brighton and this progressive filly only has a 3lb higher mark to contend with today. One imagines that when this daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar was born those around wouldn't have assumed that she would start life in handicaps on a mark of 50 but now just 4lb higher she is fancied to win again. Emerald Glade is better than she was able to show at Beverley last time and this well-bred contender has a little to prove at present, Straversjoy is out of the weights but his stoutly-bred filly shaped with lots more promise when stepped up in trip at Beverley (drop in trip today a negative), whilst Green Community is edging down to a decent mark and is respected accordingly. Dazakhee continues to hold her form well, Posy Fossil has something to prove in regards to stamina, whilst New Code needs a market check having been big prices on all four starts to date but something will click at some point. Of more interest though is Layla's Lexi who has been holding her form well since springing a surprise at Haydock back in April. Along with the fairly-handicapped Sandy Shaw she is considered, however the tentative nod is given to Princess Lexi.
