Although Rasselas looks fairly-treated now and his trainer sends out many winners here, we are more inclined to side with PINTURA ahead of Saxby and Hathaway. David Simcock's gelding bounced back to form at Haydock last time out when second to the progressive Dolphin Rock. The winner got first run on him on that occasion making his performance even better and with this quicker ground not a problem he is expected to run a big race off what looks an attractive mark. Saxby seems to have settled into his new yard now and is respected after two very solid runs up in Yorkshire this year, Transfixed is a course winner but is wildly out of form, whilst Rasselas has looked decidedly modest and it would be some training feat if that was a deliberate ploy in order to get this new mark of 70 now making his handicap debut. Another Magic Man is certainly down to a fair mark, Jimmy The Poacher is interesting if taking to the first-time blinkers, whilst Dazeen put in his best effort last time but has been put back up the weights as a rather harsh result. Ellies Image followed up her 150/1 Catterick maiden win with a solid Redcar fourth, Barnstorm put in his best effort at Hamilton from the front earlier in the month, whilst Hathaway was behind him on that occasion but the filly remains on good terms with herself. Interesting stuff, with the nod going to Pintura.
