CATHCART CASTLE showed enough on debut to suggest that he can break his duck today, with A Little Bit Dusty and Spanish Pride other likely improvers. The Mick Channon-trained pick was a staying-on fourth of 14 over 6f at Windsor on his first start. He went well on the fast ground and should appreciate this immediate step up by a furlong, so he can take advantage. A Little Bit Dusty should also benefit from his Windsor selling debut earlier in the month, but that was not as strong as this contest and he may have to settle for the frame again. Spanish Pride was given an education in a decent-sized field at Newmarket first time and with the John Dunlop runners going well she should show a fair bit more this time around. Manchester Stanley will be a threat after coming on for his first effort when much closer over this trip at Lingfield, but preference today is for Cathcart Castle.
