Prelude, Aphorism and Gee Dee Nen look the three to concentrate on in this staying handicap and the narrow nomination is given to Aphorism. The selection was a fair third behind Colwyn Bay on his first run of the season, he looks sure to strip fitter here and as he is proven over the trip and on the ground he gets the vote. Prelude rates the main danger as he has won at this track before over 12 furlongs and he scored well last time out when beating Plane Painter. However he has a penalty for that win and he is not proven over this longer trip so he looks worth taking on. Gee Dee Nen was fifth behind Nobelix last time out, but that horse has since been well beaten under his penalty and he looks vulnerable under top weight. Kyoto Summit is another that looks weighted up to his best while Winged d'Argent's best form is with cut in the ground. With all this in mind Aphorism is given the vote.
