Verdict

Mae Cigan handled the testing conditions really well when winning at Haydock last week and is taken to defy a 6lb penalty and follow up here at the main expense of River Logic and Pothos Way. The last mentioned is the least exposed of the line up after just three career outings, all on the all-weather, but he should handle the softer ground here and has to be of interest on only his second start in a handicap. Gigs Magic would probably prefer a faster surface, while Leamington Lad has yet to prove that he stays this far and is not certain to do so. Similar comments apply to Asbury Park and of more interest may be the consistent and in-form River Logic, although he may now be a shade high in the weights. Mae Cigan does have that penalty to help put the stoppers on, but he seemed to win with plenty in hand that day and is taken to follow up.
